Hey everybody, so here we are at the end of another year 2025 holiday season and I like to do these holiday episodes kind of a message to you guys. ⁓ My very, very valued dear listeners, thank you so much. I say this all the time. I really, really appreciate the time that you spend with us every Monday. ⁓ In thinking about this past year,
I keep coming back to one word and it's a word that you've heard me say before, which is resilience, because that's what you are. You're resilient. You know, you're resilient from a physical standpoint, you stand on your feet for hours, ⁓ as well as other ways you manage schedules that would break most people. You navigate the, the changes in the industry that are endless, endless changes. And still you show up every day in your salon behind your chair.
creativity, with care for your clients, and with that energy that makes people feel like they're the only client in the world. And this year, you didn't just do hair, you held a space for people's stories. You celebrated their wins, you sat with them with care through their losses, and you're a constant.
in your client's chaotic life, that one bit of peaceful time, however often it is, and their overwhelming week. And maybe you don't hear this, I know you don't hear this enough, but that matters, you matter. I want you to think about this. Every single person who walked out of your salon this year walked out differently than they came in. Obviously they looked better.
because you're great at what you do. But that's not the only way that they walked out better. ⁓ They walked out better because they like you. You the person you are, the way you listen, the way you made them laugh, the way you saw them, really saw them when maybe the rest of the world has stopped seeing them.
You know, that's not just a service, that's a superpower. And that is what you do in this industry with what you do daily. So as we roll into 2026, I hope you give yourself permission to celebrate how far you've come. Maybe this year was your biggest yet. Maybe it was your hardest. Maybe it was both. But regardless, you're here. You made it through and that deserves recognition.
So here's my hope for you, for all of you in 2026, that you continue to trust your instincts, that you protect your energy, and you remember why you fell in love with this craft in the first place.
that you find moments of joy in the chaos and discomfort of everyday life, and that you surround yourself with the people who lift you up the way that you lift up everyone around you, especially your clients. And most importantly, that you remember you're not just changing hair. You are truly changing lives, one guest visit at a time.
So thank you for everything that you pour into this industry. Thank you for being brave enough to create, generous enough to care, and passionate enough to keep going. Not just when it's easy and fun, which it is a lot of the time, but especially when it's hard, because that's what really, really matters. So happy holidays, and here's to another year of making the magic happen.
